To get started with managing your Azure serverless entities with Serverless360, the following should be configured:
01. Selecting the Authentication Mode
Serverless360 now offers options in the authentication.
- Active Directory
- Email (Username and Password)
The decision on authentication mode can be made at the time of initial sign up
02. Associating Service Principals
Any 3rd party software like Serverless360 or any custom application for that matter, will need authorization credentials to gain access to Azure services. Serverless360 will use Service Principal, an app registered in the Azure Active Directory, with contributor access on the Azure Resource Groups or individual resources like Service Bus Namespaces, Logic Apps, Functions etc.
How to create a Service Principal and associate it with Serverless360
02. Associating Namespaces
In case of the requirement from Serverless360 is limited to managing and monitoring Service Bus, Event Hubs or Relays, the alternate option to associate the resources is using namespace connection string with Manage claims.
However the limitation here is Data Monitoring cannot be performed on Service Bus Queues or Topics associated using namespace connectionstring.
If the intention is to manage only Namespaces and entities inside it, Associating Service Principals step can be skipped.
03. Composite Applications
Composite Application is a logical entity that can be used to group Azure Resources like Queues, Topics, Relays, Event Hubs, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Grids, Storage Accounts and API EndPoints that constitute a Line of Business Application in the Integration Solution Architecture. These resources can be from different Azure Subscriptions and namespaces. Entities have to be associated to a Compostie Application to perform operations and monitoring.
Once the above configuration is completed, the application is all set . Please refer how to add entities to your Composite Application.
Not Mandatory
The following configurations are not mandatory to get started. They can be done as required.
Change Plan
Any new account will have a trial period during which access to all features are provided with limitation to number of entities that can be associated. Based on the requirement, plan can be changed and entities and activities can be purchased. Serverless360 supports payment through Credit Cards through a certified payment gateway Stripe. Below is an illustration on changing plan through the portal.
Alternately, payment can be done through banks by raising PO and Invoicing. Please contact our Sales team through contact@serverless360.com
User Invitation
Invite users to the account either by providing their email addresses or from the Active Directory user list based on your choice in Authentication mode. Users will receive an email invitation. Upon verification, they will be able to access the account.
Access policy Configuration
Define granular access policies to a user invited as a Normal User
Configure Notification Channels
Add more than one notification channel of any type listed. Choose from these channels while configuring Monitors to forward alerts to our support team.
